STMA Mayor, Lawyer FF Faidoo Commissions Ultra-Modern Essikado Sub-Metro Office Under 2025 DACF Project

The Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has officially commissioned one of the 21 development projects being executed within the metropolis under the 2025 District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

The newly completed project, the fully renovated Essikado Sub-Metro office complex, forms part of ongoing efforts by the Assembly to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve public service delivery.
According to the Mayor, the project became a priority following early inspection tours conducted across the metropolis upon assumption of office. During these visits, he identified the deteriorated and incomplete state of the Essikado Sub-Metro office block as a major concern requiring urgent intervention.

The poor condition of the facility had previously hindered effective administrative operations and impacted service delivery to residents within the sub-metro area. As a result, the renovation was prioritized under the Assembly’s broader infrastructure development agenda.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Mayor expressed satisfaction that the long-awaited renovation had been successfully completed. He noted that the upgraded facility now provides a modern and conducive working environment for staff, ultimately enhancing efficiency and improving service delivery to the public.
He further indicated that the project forms part of a wider commitment to improving infrastructure and strengthening local governance systems across the metropolis.
The Assembly is expected to commission the remaining DACF-funded projects in the coming weeks as part of its ongoing development programme for 2025.
The Mayor also commended ELink Global Company Limited, the contractor for the project, for delivering quality work and completing the project ahead of schedule.
The brief commissioning ceremony was attended by a representative of the Member of Parliament, the Queen Mother of the Essikado Traditional Area, the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, and other key officials. The facility was officially handed over to the Sub-Metro Director and staff for full use.
