MP For Sekondi, Hon. Blay Armah Nyamekeh Delivering real Impact in Sekondi

In a time when many Ghanaians are growing weary of political promises and unfulfilled manifestos, it is important to highlight the few leaders who are delivering real, visible results for their people. As a political activist who closely monitors the performance of Members of Parliament across all 276 constituencies in Ghana, I can boldly state that Hon. Blay Nyamekeh, MP for Sekondi, is one of the most impactful and hardworking MPs we currently have.
In just one year in office, Hon. Nyamekeh has implemented several practical and far-reaching social interventions that are changing lives in Sekondi. These are not textbook policies or empty pledges they are real actions being felt on the ground by ordinary citizens.
Transforming Education
Hon. Nyamekeh understands the value of education as a foundation for development. To support pupils and ease the burden on parents, he distributed over 100,000 exercise books to students from Kindergarten to Junior High School (JHS) across the Sekondi constituency. Every student received 20 books each, a significant step that directly supports learning and classroom engagement.

Free Bus Service for Students

Transportation costs and safety concerns are common challenges for many families. In response, Hon. Nyamekeh has introduced a free bus service for all schoolchildren in Sekondi from crèche to tertiary level. This initiative not only encourages consistent school attendance but also reduces the financial pressure on parents.
Supporting SHS Students

Starting Senior High School (SHS) often comes with major expenses, especially for boarding students. To ease this burden, Hon. Blay Nyamekeh distributed 700 trunks and 700 chop boxes to SHS students. This thoughtful gesture ensures that no student is left behind due to lack of basic boarding items.
Empowering Traders

Recognizing the vital role small businesses play in the local economy, the MP launched an interest-free loan scheme that has so far supported 3,000 traders. This initiative provides financial relief and promotes business growth, especially for market women and petty traders who often struggle with access to affordable credit.
A New Standard of Leadership
These interventions reflect the kind of leadership Ghanaians are yearning for one grounded in service, results, and empathy. Hon. Nyamekeh has not waited for election season to act; he is working year-round to uplift his constituents.
In just 12 months, he has delivered more than some have done in their entire tenure. His approach is not about visibility alone, but impact, accessibility, and relevance.
The people of Sekondi are not just observing, they are benefitting. The results are visible in schools, markets, homes, and streets. And as someone who walks those streets and engages the people, I can confidently say: Sekondi is proud of Hon. Blay Nyamekeh.
He is setting the pace and raising the bar for parliamentary representation in Ghana.
Let his work be a message to others: leadership is about action not words.
