Names Facility After Nana Kobina Nketsia V

ESSIKADO – The landscape of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Essikado Campus, has been officially transformed today, January 23, 2026, with the commissioning of a new, modern 500-bed capacity hostel.
The project, fully funded and constructed by prominent business mogul and philanthropist Dr. Justice Amoh (Justmoh), stands as a direct response to the infrastructure needs of the School of Railway and Infrastructure Development.

In a significant gesture of honor toward local heritage, Dr. Amoh officially named the facility the Nana Kobina Nketsia V Hostel, in recognition of the Paramount Chief of the Essikado Traditional Area.

The naming honors the Chief’s long-standing dedication to educational advancement and his influential role in the Sekondi-Takoradi enclave.
The ceremony was marked by the presence of the Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Lawyer Frederick Faustinus Faidoo, who attended as the Special Guest of Honor.
Speaking to New Chapter Media, Dr. Amoh took the opportunity to publicly commend the Mayor for his exceptional leadership and the administrative support provided by the STMA. The Mayor’s commitment to facilitating private sector contributions has been cited as a key factor in the timely completion of this multi-million cedi project.
Evidence of the facility’s modern standards includes fully furnished student units, integrated security features, and dedicated study hubs designed to host a significant portion of the student population.

This contribution by Justmoh Construction Limited is expected to drastically reduce the accommodation deficit on the Essikado campus, ensuring that students can live and learn in a secured environment.
With this latest project, Dr. Justice Amoh continues to demonstrate the tangible impact of indigenous business leaders in driving the national developmental agenda.
