Wendy Shay, Ghanaian afro pop sensation in what seemed to be her best successful year crowned as best female artist in Africa
At the 9th All Africa music Awards, AFRIMA Awards ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria, Wendy Shay was announced as the winner of the Best Female Artiste in Western Africa category for 2025/2026 with her hit song Too Late. She competed against several notable artists including Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Moliy, Josey, Djelykaba Bintou, Mia Guissé, and Viviane Chidid and emerged victorious.
During her acceptance speech, Wendy Shay expressed heartfelt thanks to her fans, team, label, and supporters, and spoke about the significance of the award as a female artist in a male-dominated industry. “This is a win for Ghana” Shay added
